Last Call for Newport Open Space Survey
December 21, 2015
The MyNewport open space survey will close next Monday, December 21! Be sure to share your ideas before then. The survey is a brief, fun, and interactive survey that enables you to share your ideas, celebrate existing spaces, and critique areas that could be improved.
Have you heard? The Newport Open Space Partnership is creating a plan for the beautiful parks, trees, and open spaces across Newport – and we want your input!
How could we improve Newport’s parks, trees, and public open spaces? Are there enough parks for sports and other recreation? Can you get to them? Are there enough open spaces and greenways? Please share your thoughts by taking our quick and fun online survey.
The survey will close next Monday, December 21 — be sure to participate before then! You can take the survey here.
The Newport Open Space Partnership is studying the city’s active and passive green spaces plus water amenities to create the first city-wide master plan for trees, parks and open space since Frederic Law Olmsted’s “Recommendations for Newport” in 1913. This effort is a partnership of the City of Newport, the Newport Tree and Open Space Commission, the Aquidneck Land Trust, the Aquidneck Island Planning Commission, and the Newport Tree Society.
Please also save the date for our second community meeting.
On January 28, 2016 there will be a citywide public meeting at the Pell School to share progress, plans, photos and survey results. Join us at 6 pm to help shape the vision for Newport’s next century of open space! Learn more here.
