The grounds of the former Edward King estate make up Aquidneck Park and acts as a campus for the Senior Center, Public Library and Martin Recreation Center. Located at the southern end of the Cliff Walk, is the public portion of Bailey’s Beach, known by locals as Rejects Beach. The beach has limited parking and amenities but is much loved for its natural scenery.

This 13 acre park was created in 1990, donated to the City by Carol Ballard. The undisturbed beauty of Ballard Park and its surroundings will be preserved in perpetuity after the city, Aquidneck Land Trust and Ballard family reached an agreement to place 75 acres under permanent conservation easements The park is a popular place for hikes and dog walking.

Located in the Point District Neighborhood, Battery Park was created from “Fort Greene,” a former military battery from the War of 1812. A small, waterfront park, overlooking the Newport Bridge the park is perfect for picnics, sunset strolls and taking in views of the harbor.

Donated in memory of a fallen Vietnam Soldier, Braga Park includes basketball courts, a playground, a picnic area, a soccer field, a softball field, and is the access point for the Easton’s Pond rim trail.

Brenton Point State Park offers its visitors a spectacular view on the East Coast. The park is located at the point of land where Narragansett Bay meets the Atlantic, midway along Ocean Drive. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, hiking, fishing, and taking in the majestic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This historic wooden stadium located in the heart of downtown Newport is home to multiple leagues including the popular collegiate league’s Newport Gulls. With references dating back as far as 1893, Cardines Field is considered one of the oldest ball parks in the country.
