Thank you for attending the third and final community meeting for this planning process on June 6, 2016. An estimated 100 people filled the room at Pell School to listen to the presentation of the preferred vision and implementation strategy for Newport’s Parks and Open Spaces. The preferred vision encapsulated five principles heard throughout the community engagement process in surveys and previous meetings: 1) Great Parks and Open Spaces; 2) An Equitable System; 3) A Connected System; 4) An Environmental System; and 5) A Living Legacy. The evening began with an open house session followed by a 30-minute presentation. The meeting wrapped up with an interactive session for community members to share feedback and fill out surveys that documented their priorities.
