Vernon Park 

This park includes tennis courts, restrooms, a baseball field, a playground and a collection of cherry trees donated by City of Newport’s sister City, Shimoda, Japan.

Coggeshall Park 

The grounds of the former Coggeshall School is our newest park which includes a playground and a popular neighborhood play field.

Aquidneck Park 

The grounds of the former Edward King estate make up Aquidneck Park and acts as a campus for the Senior Center, Public Library and Martin Recreation Center. The park includes lighted tennis courts, a playground and a large lawn for play, but is also popular for more passive activities such as sunbathing or reading a book.

Morton Park 

This historic park designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, was donated to the City by Levi Morton, a future Vice President of the United States, who drove one of the first rivets into the Statue of Liberty’s big toe as the Ambassador to France. This picturesque park includes a volley ball court, large picnic area and a popular playground.

Murphy Field 

Located near Rogers High School, Murphy Field is heavily used for high school sports including baseball, softball, football, tennis and basketball. The park also includes a WPA era stone slide and a childrens playground.
